Jesús Iñiguez is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and co-founder of DreamersAdrift and UndocuMedia. He currently works as the Senior Media Content Strategist at The Center for Cultural Power.
He immigrated from Mexico City, Mexico in 1986 with his family, and grew up in Southern California, where he graduated from CSULB in 2008 with degrees in Sociology and Chicano Latino Studies.
Trained as a film photographer and a self-taught videographer, coupled with his status as an undocumented artivist, he’s created video and photography work centered around the undocumented experience in the United States over the course of the last 12 years, documenting actions, activists, and artists in the migrants rights field. His work has been highlighted in multiple art and video displays and installations in different museums and educational centers throughout the country, has appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, as well as various international publications.
Most recently, he spearheads the Beyond Status showcase for The Center for Cultural Power, where he works to create opportunities for migrant directors and filmmakers to manifest short films.
He currently resides in the Bay Area, California, where he enjoys eating out at different locales to appease the palate, visiting different breweries in search of great stout beers, and is an avid vinyl records collector (“Music is my life!”).
